the process of change in reality therapy /[videorecording] :[presented by] Zeig, Tucker & Co., Inc. ; produced by Governors State University for Zeig, Tucker & Theisen Publishers. - Phoenix, AZ :Zeig, Tucker & Co.,c2000. - 1 videocassette (ca. 95 min.) :sd., col. ;1/2 in. - Brief therapy inside out.
(Producer) This session, with a woman who is in doubt about marrying her fiance, helps her to see the pros and cons of being an independent person and of rejecting the pressure of her fiance and others to marry him. Dr. Glasser shows this indecisive and anxious woman the realistic advantages and disadvantages of marriage in general and of marriage to this particular fiance specifically. He strongly encourages her to give the question more thought, to experiment with a longer period of close intimacy before actually marrying, and to give serious consideration to the long-term consequences of her too easily committing herself to marrying. He helps her to reduce her anxiety and guilt about not following conventional rules, and tactfully encourages her to make her own final choices and to courageously think for herself.
Series hosts: Jon Carlson and Diane Kjos.
